Welcome to the Save The Suite Life of Zack and Cody website!
"Apparently, you don't understand the foot down concept!"
- Zack, "The Fairest Of Them All"
****
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was originally put on hiatus in the Autumn of 2006 and this site was developed in order to persuade Disney to start a third season. That season began production in early 2007. The third season has now ended and we are here for the fans that want a fourth season.
It is Save Disney Show's undying belief that having a policy of just sixty-five episodes (which the Suite Life happens to have gone on hiatus after) stifles creativity in addition to being grossly unfair to the fans. That's why the movement continues to ask Disney to formally renounce this informal 65 episode rule - starting with the Suite Life.
A show's fate should be determined by the fans, not a "soulless" company. As long as the Suite Life is popular it deserves to continue on in production. And we invite everyone who enjoys this show (from preteens to adults) to join our cause. The fight for season four will be a long and hard one, but if we start now and keep at it, we will win - no questions asked.
Let's give Disney their OWN wake-up call!
****
And now, a little bit of history for you...
"I bet you can't name a single founding father!"
"Can so! My father founded Tipton Industries!"
"No, no, I meant --"
"I'm bored. Bye!"
- Maddie and London, "Boston Tea Party"
In December of 2005, the Mission Kim Possible group - after nearly two years of a constant battle with Disney - won a renewal for the popular cartoon Kim Possible. Not too long after, the immensely popular Save Phil of the Future group sprang up to follow in its footsteps, and made huge progress in less than a year. And now, it happens to be the Suite Life's turn. But, just like with the missions before us, we just can't save the show without your help!

Its important to remember that paper letters are the key to our efforts, and events are spaced out so you have at least a week to prepare as many as you can. Please refer to our how to help section for addresses: http://help.savedisneyshows.org

Save Wizards Day & The Work Ahead

Our first Save Wizards day was this past friday the 26th. The email stats show a 10% increase over our unofficial Wizards email day earlier in the month, which is an encouraging sign, but no where near what we need!
To those of you who are doing your part, thank you, please keep it up. But we need the rest of you to step up! Wizards of Waverly Place will stop filming this month. And the show still hasn’t been renewed!
I know a lot of fans of the show are skeptical that the show needs our help, but IT DOES. Look at our track record, SDS has always been out front trying to raise awareness of these problems so that the fans have an opportunity to fight back. Even if you’re not a fan yourself, we need your help to get the word out. Once the show stops airing new episodes people will catch on, but history has shown us that by then, it might be too late.
Our next Save Wizards day is March 19th. This is our last best chance to save the show. We need it as big as possible.
To help, visit our save Wizards website: WizardsOfWaverlyPlace.org Thank you!

Eventually everyone starts dropping out as a result of SPS - Skinny Pants Syndrome, in a new episode of "Sonny With A Chance," SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Can’t wait? See more promos here and discuss the show at the SWAC Fans Forum!

Aly & AJ Split with Hollywood Records

Phil of the Future fans are probably interested in the fact that Aly has broken her last official ties with Disney and have left Hollywood Records!
Hey guys"so we know its been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first.
Now that its official, we can tell you were no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. Were writing and recording new music and are really excited on whats next.
So"what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we dont foresee it ever being released. But"we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope youll love as much as we do.
Were going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes"major bummer. But well have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being.
As always, you can get a hold of us on Twitter or Facebook.
We love you and are excited to share the new 78violet with you. Xoxo.
A+A
78violet
I obviously dont know all the details, but something here just doesn’t add up. Why not release the third album with Hollywood, make a good deal of money from it, and then shop for a new record deal while riding the wave of that album? This sounds a lot like when Aly and her mom walked away from Phil of the Future for a new show with AJ that eventually never happened.

Good Luck Charlie Update

Most will probably remember that Webmaster Greg went to a filming for Good Luck Charlie last December. At that filming, he got to see the first episode and the one they shot that day, #111 "Kit and Kaboodle." Well, he decided once wasn’t enough and went again on February 12th. That Fridays episode was #118, "Butt-Dialing Duncans." We dont want to give too much away, but we will say that Teddy and PJ get new phones which get themselves in a little bit of trouble.
You can read more about the episode and the filming at DC Fans.
You can also see the new GLC promo that’s currently airing on Disney Channel, here.

Remember the Feb highlights post? It looks like Disney’s gonna start giving us monthly highlights.
March is gonna be a big month for DC Fans, starting with a special Suite Life on Deck.
“Once Upon a Suite Life” - During Ms. Tutweiler’s history lesson, Zack, Cody and London fall asleep and dream of themselves in classic fairy tales. London dreams that she is the evil witch trying to poison Snow White (Bailey), so she can be the fairest in the land; Cody imagines he and Zack are Hansel and Gretel as they get lost in the forest and find a candy cottage and Ms. Tutweiler, a witch; and Zack dreams of Jack and the Beanstalk, in which he trades the family cow for magic beans, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Then March 14th is a huge day, with the previously announced Hannah Montana S3 finale, and the Premiere of Sonny with a Chance Season two
“Walk A Mile In My Pants” - Sonny rallies everyone together for a “Walk-A-Thon For Books” and gets Tawni to donate her “Tawni Hart’s Extreme Skinny Jeans” for all of the participants to wear. Eventually everyone starts dropping out as a result of SPS – Skinny Pants Syndrome, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
It will be followed by a new JONAS, which is surprising. I thought they already used up all the S1 episodes. And there’s no way they could be done with a S2 episode already.
“Exam Jam” - As the JONAS World Concert Tour draws closer, Joe and Stella come to terms with being apart from one another over the summer. Meanwhile Kevin and Joe devise a plan to help Nick ace his geometry test after their dad threatens not to send the brothers on tour unless they pass all their school exams, in “JONAS,” premiering SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
After that epic weekend, we get a new Wizards of Waverly Place.
“Detention Election” - Justin’s chances at becoming Student Body President are put in jeopardy after someone wallpapers Principal Laritate’s office with posters from Justin’s campaign and he is accused of masterminding the prank. Meanwhile, Alex befriends Stevie, a rebellious new girl in school, and Jerry, Max and Harper get stuck on a Ferris wheel during their trip to Coney Island in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And a new On Deck. This series must be nearing the end of the season, although I haven’t checked exactly how many more remain.
“Marriage 101″ - Ms. Tutweiler assigns her students a project where they must act like married couples and manage a household. Cody and Bailey are the quintessential perfect couple, and Zack and London make a surprisingly good couple too. When Woody and Addison have a child - Marcus - they learn how difficult adult life can be, in a new episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And then we’ll wrap up the month with two more new Sonny with a Chance episodes.
“Sonny Get Your Goat” - When Sonny and Tawni learn the “Check It Out Girls” sketch is popular in Glendovia, Marshall arranges for an exchange program, not realizing that the Glendovians think the girls are real check-out girls and want them to be cashiers for a store’s grand opening. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady wear mustaches to fit in with their Glendovian exchange student, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And
“Gassie Passes” - When the cast of “So Random!” finds out they are starring in a new movie based on their “Gassie” sketches, Demi showers the pup with affection by giving him too many dog treats. When Gassie passes out, the cast fears the worst, only to discover that Sonny’s treats caused Gassie to fall ill. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady receive money from a secret investor, who turns out to be Dakota Condor, to mass produce the Gassie lunch boxes that Zora invented, in a new episode of “Sonny With A Chance,” SUNDAY, MARCH 28 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Of course, Jennifer Stone’s new movie “Harriet the Spy: The Blog Wars” also premieres this month on the 26th. But no one cares about that.

Save Wizards of Waverly Place!
It may seem hard to believe, but Disney’s consistently highest rated and Emmy winning program the Wizards of Waverly Place is set to conclude production of it’s third and final season this March! This will bring the show to roughly 75 episodes in total.
The cast was only signed to three seasons, and star Selena Gomez has indicated in several interviews that she wishes to move on. While we certainly respect her desire to explore her options, there is no reason she can’t wait an extra year before enrolling in college or taking certain movie roles. But once Wizards ends, she can’t easily come back, so it’s only logical that the cast make the fourth season now, and then move on to other projects.
At SDS, we believe most fans want to see that fourth season happen. Not only do we love the series, but that fourth season makes the whole series more valuable by extending how long Disney can replay the series, plus it increases Disney’s options for syndication.
Whatever the reason for Disney’s decision not to renew the show, we have a much greater chance of saving the show if we act now, before production ends and the cast and crew begin other projects.
To help, visit our new save Wizards website: WizardsOfWaverlyPlace.org Thank you!
Happy Birthday Sonny!

A million dollar robot? Okay… I’m not sure I’m feeling this one.
Of course, we already know that Starstruck is airing on February 14th.
And Radio Disney’s Jake Whetter says that the new season of Sonny with a Chance “airs right before “Starstruck” premieres on February 14th. ” via Twitter. But if that is accurate, it seems strange that Disney wouldn’t mention it among all these other press releases. Maybe it will be Spring afterall…

Roy E. Disney, Walt’s nephew and one of the most influential people in the recent history of the Disney company passed away today.
Roy was one of my heroes. He fought for what he believed, he fought for quality in Disney animation, and he ultimately saved the company. Twice.
Without his guiding hand, I don’t know what will happen to the company. Iger seems to be doing a good job, and I have faith in John Lasseter and Steve Jobs. But we’ll all miss Roy.
What follows is the official Disney Press Release:
Roy Edward Disney, son of Disney Studios co-founder Roy O. Disney, and nephew of Walt Disney, passed away today (12/16/09) at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, California, following a year-long battle with stomach cancer. He was 79 years old. Disney was a successful businessman, philanthropist, filmmaker, and award-winning sailor, who played a key role in the revitalization of The Walt Disney Company and Disney’s animation legacy. He was associated with the Company over a 56-year period, and from 1984 – 2003, served as vice chairman of the Company’s board of directors, and chairman of the Studio’s Animation Department. In recent years, he held the title of director emeritus and consultant for the Company.
As head of Disney Animation, Disney helped to guide the Studio to a new golden age of animation with an unprecedented string of artistic and box office successes that included “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Lion King.” He personally executive produced “Fantasia/2000,” a sequel to the 1940 Disney classic, and served in a similar capacity on a number of recent animated shorts, including the 2004 Oscar(R)-nominated “Destino,” based on storyboards and original art by the iconic artist Salvador Dali. In the area of live-action films, Disney and his wife, Leslie DeMeuse Disney, most recently executive produced the 2008 feature documentary, “Morning Light,” which followed a group of young sailors as they competed in the grueling Transpac race from Los Angeles to Honolulu.
His philanthropic activities included sponsorship of the Roy E. Disney Center for the Performing Arts at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center, part of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, is scheduled to open in spring, 2010.
Commenting on the announcement, Bob Iger, president and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, said, “On behalf of everyone at Disney, we are saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Roy E. Disney. He was much more than a valued 56-year Company veteran – Roy’s true passion and focus were preserving and building upon the amazing legacy of Disney animation that was started by his father and uncle. Roy’s commitment to the art of animation was unparalleled and will always remain his personal legacy and one of his greatest contributions to Disney’s past, present and future.”
John Lasseter, chief creative officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, added, “I first met Roy when I was still an animation student at CalArts. Not only did I consider him a personal friend, but he was a great man who believed deeply in the art of animation. He put his heart and soul into preserving Disney’s legendary past, while helping to move the art of animation into the modern age by embracing new technology. Roy was a visionary and passionate supporter of the art form, and he was all about quality. I was always impressed that he would make time for someone like me when I was fresh out of college, and he continued to support and encourage me throughout my career.”
Stanley Gold, president, Shamrock Holdings, said, “Roy and I enjoyed a 35-year friendship and partnership that was simply special. We faced many business challenges together, had fun in the process, and enjoyed a wide variety of professional successes. Roy was a man who was steadfastly loyal to his principles and to his friends. He was a gracious, humble gentleman who could make the tough decisions life sometimes requires. He carried the torch high and proud, and the world is a better place for his tireless efforts. I will miss him greatly.”
Roy Edward Disney was born in Los Angeles on January 10, 1930 to Roy O. Disney and Edna Francis Disney. His father and his uncle, Walt Disney, co-founded the Disney entertainment business in 1923.
After attending Harvard School and Pomona College, Disney launched his entertainment industry career in 1952, working as an assistant film editor on the “Dragnet” TV series.
He joined The Walt Disney Studios in 1953 as an assistant film editor, where his credits included the landmark Academy Award(R)-winning True-Life Adventures features, “The Living Desert” and “The Vanishing Prairie.” As a writer and production associate, he received Oscar(R) nominations for his work on the short subject, “Mysteries of the Deep” in 1959, and in 2003 for his work as executive producer for “Destino.”
Disney produced and directed some 35 other TV and theatrical production, including the landmark 1968 documentary, “Varda, the Peregrine Falcon,” before leaving in 1977 to become an independent producer and investor.
In 1978, Disney founded Shamrock Holdings, Inc., a wholly-owned family enterprise headquartered in Burbank, California, which specializes in private equity, real estate, and public equities investing. He served as chairman of the company, which has approximately $1.5 billion of capital committed to funds.
An avid competitive sailor, Disney holds several elapsed-time records for offshore races in the Pacific Ocean, including multiple wins in the 2,225-mile Transpac.
Among his many professional and philanthropic activities, Disney served on the board of trustees of California Institute of the Arts, the advisory board of St. Joseph Medical Center, and the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, Inc. Additionally, he was an advisory member of the board of directors of the United States Committee for UNICEF, chairman emeritus of the board of directors of the Peregrine Fund, a member of the board of trustees of Ronald McDonald House charities, and a member of the board of trustees of the American Ireland Fund.
In 1993, he received the Winsor McCay Award (a special “Annie Award”) from ASIFA-Hollywood (The International Animated Film Society). The McCay Award is for lifetime achievement in animation. In 1997, Disney was awarded the first “Mort Walker Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Cartoon Industry,” by the Boca Raton International Museum of Cartoon Art.
Disney received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from his alma mater Pomona College in 1998. In 2002, he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Mercy College in New York. The following year, he was presented with the Trustees’ Award and honorary Doctor of the Arts degree from CalArts.
Among his other honors, Disney was named a recipient of the 1999 National Catholic Education Association Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to children and education. In April 1999, Disney received the Henry Bergh Humane Award from the ASPCA, and in spring 2000, he was awarded the Inaugural Environmental Leadership Award from the Audubon Society.
Disney is survived by his wife, Leslie, and four children from his marriage to Patricia Dailey Disney – Tim Disney, Roy Patrick Disney, Abigail Disney, and Susan Disney Lord. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private, followed by cremation. His ashes will be scattered at sea. Plans for a Life Celebration will be announced shortly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.

As you no doubt remember, the outgoing president of Disney Channel Worldwide, Rich Ross, was recently promoted to Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios.
Today, Disney has named Carolina Lightcap as the new president of Disney Channel Worldwide. As such, she becomes the most important person that SDS members contact going forward. We don’t know that much about her yet, but it’s important our supporters make a good, strong, and untited impression on her.
We’re working on putting together a special “Welcome to DC” event for her. Please check back for more on that as we work out the details.
Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS) named Carolina Lightcap as the new president of Disney Channels Worldwide, according to an AP report. She is replacing Rich Ross, who will now be the movie studios chairman. Lightcap joined Disney in 2000 and was most recently vice president of programming and creative affairs and CMO of the Latin American operations. According to the company, Lightcap spearheaded the Latin American launch of “High School Musical” and led the creative transition of the Disney Channel from a premium service to a basic service in the region and she will relocate to Burbank, California.

I hope Dylan and Cole aren’t feeling typecast! This will make the 7th season for their characters! I still liked the original series better (mostly ’cause it had Ashley Tisdale) but the spin off is also very well done, and it deserves to continue. And I certainly won’t complain about seeing more of Debby Ryan.

What follows is Disney’s press release about the renewal of the show:
DISNEY CHANNEL ORDERS MORE HIGH SEAS ANTICS WITH
A THIRD SEASON OF “THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK”
Disney Channel has ordered more high seas antics with a third season of “The Suite Life on Deck,” the hit comedy series set on a cruise ship. Production on the series will resume in Hollywood in early 2010, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
2009-to date, “The Suite Life on Deck” is the #1 TV series among Kids 6-11 and the #2 scripted TV series among Tweens 9-14. It recently (October 2) posted series highs in Total Viewers (6.8 million) and across all target demos. In addition, Season Two to date, the series surpasses its first-season average by an impressive 24% in Total Viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.1 million), by 21% in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.9 million) and by 24% in Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million vs. 1.7 million). Source: NTI, 2009 to date: 12/29/08-10/11/09, most current, U.S. ratings, trackage data.
The series follows identical twins Zack and Cody Martin and hotel heiress London Tipton on a semester at sea aboard the luxurious SS Tipton. Joining the hijinks are London’s roommate Bailey, a sweet, southern girl who has just left her small-town Kansas roots to experience a whole new world, and Marcus Little, a former singing teen sensation who is now making a fresh start. More often than not, their antics make the dutiful cruise ship’s hotel manager, Mr. Moseby, want to walk the plank.
The series stars Dylan Sprouse as Zack Martin, Cole Sprouse as Cody Martin, Brenda Song as London Tipton, Debby Ryan as Bailey Pickett, Doc Shaw as Marcus Little and Phill Lewis as Mr. Moseby. Recurring cast members are Erin Cardillo as Ms. Tutweiller, Matthew Timmons as Woody and Windell Middlebrooks as Kirby.
The new season will be executive-produced by Pamela Eells O’Connell (“Family Matters”) and Irene Dreayer (“Sister, Sister,” “Smart Guy”). “The Suite Life on Deck” is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions for Disney Channel. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.

Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana was a ratings blockbuster scoring a 9.3 making it the highest rated cable program of the year, and besting everything else the channel has premiered since HSM2!

I’d like to site two articles. The first is from Reuters.
Disney Channel’s crossover special “Wizards on Deck With Hannah Montana” was the most-watched scripted telecast on cable so far this year.
The 90-minute Friday night event, which featured episodes of “Hannah Montana,” “The Suite Life on Deck” and “Wizards of Waverly Place,” was seen by a massive 9.3 million viewers. It also marked TV’s top scripted telecast this year among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. Disney Channel out delivered second-place CBS for the evening by than 4 million viewers.
The program marked the best time-period numbers for Disney Channel since the 2007 premiere of “High School Musical 2.” It also topped previous network crossover events, drawing 82% more viewers than 2007’s “Cory in the House,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “Hannah Montana” mash-up, and 41% more than 2006’s “That’s So Raven,” “Zack & Cody” and “Hannah Montana” combo.
And the second is from is from TV Guide.
Disney Channel’s Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana Friday-night crossover event drew 9.3 million viewers, claiming a variety of ratings records.
First and foremost, the 90-minute intermingling of the channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck and Hannah Montana established itself as cable’s most-watched scripted program of the year to date, edging out Disney’s own Princess Protection Program (which premiered last month).
Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana’s strong showing also gave Disney Channel the honor of being TV’s most-watched network during its 90-minute run.
Disney also notes that in head-to-head competition during the 8 o’clock hour, WoDwHM more than doubled the audience for the opening night of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants 10th anniversary celebration.
Compared to Disney’s past multi-show mergers, Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana improved upon 2007’s Cory in the House-Suite Life of Zack & Cody-Hannah mash-up by 82 percent, and bested 2006’s That’s So Raven-Suite Life-Hannah crossover by 41 percent.
It looks like Debby Ryan got the best of SpongBob this time!

It’s interesting to see the continued assent of power and influance that disney channel shows and Executives have both within and outside of the Walt Disney Company.
Source: Reuters
Disney Channel executives will make their first-ever full programing presentation to retailers on Monday at the International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, in a nod of the cable network’s growing earnings power within the Walt Disney Co.
Disney Channel shows produced a greater share of global merchandise sales for the company in 2008 than any single franchise produced by its movie studios, which also presents its slate at the annual licensing show.
Merchandise inspired by Disney Channel TV programs, led by ‘tween phenoms “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical” and preschooler hits “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and “Handy Manny,” reached $3.6 billion in merchandise retail sales in 2008.
“Cars,” the best-selling line inspired by the Disney-Pixar film, peaked at annual sales of $2.5 billion last year and is expected to decline this year, Disney officials said.
Global sales of “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical” merchandise grew faster in 2008 than any other Disney franchise and outstripped growth for the super-popular Disney Princess line, Disney Consumer Products spokesman Gary Foster said.
The cable network also has promising new franchises in “Sonny With a Chance” and “Wizards of Waverly Place”, which is why the company chose to showcase them “in a greater way”, Foster said.
Growth at the 94 Disney channels worldwide last quarter helped Disney’s cable business to 5 percent growth in operating income in the depths of the global recession.
At the same time, Studio Entertainment, whose upcoming slate of family movies usually dominates Disney’s presentation to the show’s 25,000 international retailers, will take a supporting role this year.
Disney’s studios have performed poorly in recent quarters as hits like “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Cars” gave way to duds like “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” “Prince Caspian” and “Bedtime Stories.” The studios’ operating profit plunged 97 percent last quarter.
Disney Channel’s presentation on Monday night focuses plans to support established hits, build up-and-comers and launch new properties, Disney Channel Worldwide President Rich Ross said.
“Our job is …to show people what we are excited about and … the commitment the company has … to tell stories that are popular,” Ross said. “TV has never done what TV is doing.”
Disney Channel plans to announce a fourth season for “Hannah Montana” and to report on the progress of casting for a fourth film in the “High School Musical” franchise, company officials said.
“Sonny With A Chance”, the top TV series among kids 6-11 and tweens, has been picked up for a second season, Disney said.
